It is with much disappointment that we have to pass on the news that all the Suffolk Market Events farmers markets have been cancelled for March and April.
Justine will review the situation for May.
This will affect The Jam Shed for the Sudbury and Ipswich markets.
We have yet to hear whether the Bures Market will go ahead on the second Saturday of April.
I must say that the farmers markets have provided an alternative to the supermarket melees as a venue to buy food. However at present it seems that localised producers and markets are not seen as acceptable alternatives to the centralised supermarket model.
