I have just got back from a 1500 mile motorcycle trip to Switzerland and France to visit Libby’s father. It was Mirabelle season in France with stalls along the road selling these lovely bright yellow plums. The tree near Colchester that Libby got her plums from blew down, so we didn’t have any last year. But I cleared one of the bike panniers and brought back almost 30lb! Enough for 4 batches – almost 50 jars.
So we will be making Mirabelle jam this week. Come and see us on Friday 31st August in St Peter’s in Sudbury. Buy a fresh baguette and try this deliciously fresh jam with a cup of good coffee.
